Though I'm more familiar with the older version (choleric, etc.), these temperament types are a bit easier to see and work with. I can easily find where our own kids were growing up, and it's fun to watch what characteristics our grands are exhibiting more at this stage/place in their lives. But how fascinating that the four apostles behind the four gospels fit so beautifully into one of each of these categories! I'm excited about this new series... your work is always so practical. Thanks Bethany!
Thank you! I’m really excited about it, too. Especially the Gospel writer parts. That’s been a fun lens to integrate.
This topic of temperaments seems to be a fan-favorite in every parenting and teacher class I lead, so I figured it was time for an article series!
And as an academic and researcher, through and through, I’m with you on the familiarity of choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic, melancholic. But after about the 57th parent/teacher asked how to remember them easily, I thought it might be time for a pivot. I wrestled with the naming for WEEKS.
I’m so grateful to have you along for the journey!!
Don't blame you on looking for an alternative! 😄 But your weeks of wrestling really paid off... you've done a superb job with naming the types and their real-world descriptions. And you're right -- always a fun topic and exercise, so I'm truly excited about the series... and happy to be here!
